A very strange case of 3 crew medevac from Aframax tanker

Post Date: 16/03/2021

Crude oil tanker BLUE SKY asked Spanish authorities for medevac of three sick crew, with covid-like symptoms, and to allow tanker to dock at La Coruna outer port for 7 or 10 day quarantine. 3 sick crew were taken to hospital, permission to dock was granted, BLUE SKY berthed at Langosteira, La Coruna outer port, early Mar 16. The ship with some 100,000 tons of fuel on board is en route from Rotterdam to Port Said, Egypt.
First case I know of, to request medevac of several ill crew with specifically, covid-like symptoms, and demand ship and crew to be put under quarantine. Either Captain/management are overcautious, or there’s something else, some sound reason to believe more crew might fall ill.
Here’s very important question – did the crew get vaccine prior to leaving Rotterdam on Mar 12?
