Job Responsibilities

Execution of Trade Strategies (25%)

  • Accurate contract rates filing
  • Prompt and swift response to emails
  • Meet management targets on various initiatives, such as developing volumes for specific equipment types, roll-pool building, exploring new customers, etc

Utilisation Management (25%)

  • Constant review of vessel utilisations to contribute on the elaboration, development and roll out of pricing initiatives, strategies
  • Participate and contribute to the roll out of necessary pricing guidelines to sales and customers in line with trade objectives
  • Close co-ordination with commercial teams, highlighting space availability and seeking customers to effectively
  • Manage and meet segmentation targets to have the best yielding cargo onboard

Yield Management (20%)

  • Evaluate effectiveness of process and identify improvement opportunities

  • Identify and price business opportunities to gain valuable businesses which will contribute to the achievement of area budget in line with trade objectives with full asset utilization
  • Refine cargo mix, promoting best yield based on trade allocationMeet target response time

Identification of improvement opportunity (15%)

  • Develop and revise operation processes and tools, to enhance productivity and accuracy

  • Improve / reduce process time by agreed KPI

Communication (15%)

  • Effectively communicate with both internal and external parties to convey the trade's strategy and gather market information in both directions

  • Actively participate in conference calls and sales meetings, including close liaison with sales, customer service, operations and other relevant stakeholders as and when required
  • Minimum a Diploma holder from recognized polytechnics from relevant discipline (e.g. Logistics, Maritime, Business)
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in trade management is highly preferred
  • Good knowledge of the container shipping / maritime industry, particularly with Yield / Trade management, Sales & Marketing
  • Strong negotiating and communicating skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel, particularly with Vlookup & Pivot Table
