Technical Purchaser

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the department group head, the main responsibility of the Technical Purchaser is to provide daily support to the team, including, coordination of quotations, cost comparisons and liaising with suppliers.


  • Responsible for collecting and documenting all technical information from the vessels, workshops, and vendors
  • Assist Technical Superintendent with coordination of quotations and cost comparisons
  • Follow up on advance payments, make necessary entries in the cost book and liaise with suppliers, forwarders, vessels agents and the vessel for speedy dispatch
  • Make arrangements for documents to be delivered on or off vessels
  • Documents housekeeping as per company requirements
  • Filing for all technical paper received from the vessels in their respective files
  • Ad hoc duties or projects as assigned by Superior
  • Degree holder of any faculty with minimum 0 – 3 years relevant work experience
  • ITE or Diploma of any faculty with 3-6 years relevant work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications
