Mega container ship accident in engine room injured Chief Engineer, Oiler, USA

An accident in engine room of container ship APL SOUTHAMPTON took place on Apr 8 or 7, when the ship was sailing south of San Francisco, en route from Los Angeles to Oakland, according to Bulgarian industry media maritime.bg report. Chief Engineer and Oiler, both Bulgarians, were injured in the accident, both in need of medical evacuation. Coast Guard confirmed later that there was an accident. The ship reduced speed, made a long loop and resumed sailing towards San Francisco – Oakland later on Apr 8, she anchored at San Francisco Anchorage in the afternoon Apr 8. No news yet on injured crew medevac, and no accident updates.
